Life Struggles
Do you feel responsible for
everything and everyone?
Lisa is the person who takes care of everyone else. She is that friend everybody talks to. It kind of wears her out, but she cares and wants to be there for them.
But Lisa doesn’t feel like she can bother them with her problems, and she doesn’t feel heard.
Lisa always says “yes.” Someone asks her to do something, and she feels guilty saying “no.” She is overwhelmed and never has enough time to get everything done.
And yet…Lisa just can’t say “no.”
Or do you relate with this story?
Diane stands in her kitchen trying to sip her, now cold, half-cup of coffee.
Diane’s husband is hollering down the stairs, “Honey, do you know where I left my wallet?” And her youngest son, Carl, is tugging on her “Mom, Mom, Mom.”
Another day of feeling exhausted. It has been three weeks since Diane’s husband gave her the unexpected, devastating news that has now instantly changed her life!
Things with Diane’s husband and her children hadn’t been going well… but she had no idea. She wonders again, “How can this be happening to our family?”
Diane can’t seem to stop her mind from reeling…
“What are we going to do?”
“How do we fix it?”
“Was it my fault?”
“Will it ever get better?”
Diane feels stuck and tired. She wonders if she can keep all the balls in the air. Even thinking about telling anybody else is stressful. She can just see Jenny’s and Ellen’s perfect lives.
